Royston MusicFest is part of Royston Arts Festival which is run by Creative Royston a not-for-profit organisation funded by local businesses and other sponsors. If you want to know more about Creative Royston or Royston Arts Festival just click HERE.
In 2018 the plan is to split Royston MusicFest into 2 days of music all of which will be free to the public. The main Sunday will be on 23rd September, running from approximately 1.00pm to 5-5.30pm-ish in 7 venues with a Gala Concert in the evening at The Old Bull Inn running from approximately 7-10pm. ‘Royston MusicFest – Unplugged’ is provisionally planned for Sunday 30th September to coincide with the final day of the arts festival. It will also run between 1-5pm-ish and will take place in smaller venues which do not require amplification and consist mainly of solo performers with perhaps the occasional duo.
Creative Royston will cover ‘expenses’ for each performer which will be paid at a flat rate of £25 (e.g. £50 for a duo, £75 for a trio etc…) in return for performing 2 sets of between 45-60 minutes. The venues will manage their own events on the day of the performance and will be responsible for ensuring that Public Liability and other necessary insurances are in place along with appropriate health and safety measures including sufficent staff and security arangements.
